Every year the media reminds us with repeated warnings about the dangers of this years Flu season. With out a doubt this year there is heighten awareness with the threat of H1N1.
So I thought the flu would make for a topic and perhaps you could share your ideas for prevention.
We as a family have been using Wet Wipes before meals when eating out. Wet Wipes come in many sizes and have a great travel package as well. At home my favorite are Clorox Wipes.
Clorox has a great reputation for disinfecting surface areas just don't get it on your good clothes.
I clean the telephone's and tv remotes at least once a week, think about how much time we spend holding and interacting with just those two items.
If you work in a care facility look around, how many telephone's and tv remotes are there?
Yes you do have to include each residence room. Combine that number with the number of mobile cart handles, doorknobs, chairs, drawer handles, ect. ect. You touch a lot of different surface areas everyday.
Here's my tip, arm a person with disinfecting wipes and let them spend perhaps 10 minutes a day or a hour a week to wipe all those germy areas clean.
Please post your tips for warding off the flu bug.

Making Life Easier For Senior Citizens
Back in my June newsletter I posted a idea to help the visually impaired find the buttons on their radio. The idea was to make my Aunt G's life easier and to keep her listening to music and audio books. Here is a website that has plenty of ideas to assist as well.

Senior Driving Test
Hello everyone. What a wonderful weekend this was here in St. Louis! I stumbled upon a great site with a quiz that you can complete to ensure that your loved "senior" (Mom, Dad, Grandma, etc.) is still safe to drive a motor vehicle. This can be a tricky subject, as our loved ones sometimes see it as their only access to freedom and mobility. So check it out and as always, we would love your feedback!
